Curtis N. Bernsley, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Bernsley obtained his doctor of medicine degree in 1988 from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. During medical school, Dr. Bernsley was elected to the William Beaumont Medical Society for exceptional performance in clinical research.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Princeton University. As an undergraduate, he served as a Student Research Fellow at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France for three summers, where he was awarded the Louis Pasteur Medal by the Department of Molecular Genetics for original research in that field.

Dr. Bernsley finished six years of residency and internship in urology and general surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland Ohio and Case Western Reserve University.

His special urological expertise includes extensive training and experience in treating prostate cancer and training in new techniques to treat urinary incontinence in men and women using non-surgical methods.  He also has training in advanced techniques for minimally invasive kidney stone treatment, including state-of-the-art holmium laser procedures. He has particular interest in the management of BPH using a variety of medical and surgical options including greenlight laser and needle ablation techniques.

Dr. Bernsley is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is a member of the American Urologic Association, Florida Urologic Society, and the South Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.

 Dr.  Bernsley has published a range of articles and book chapters relating to his areas of expertise and has presented a number of papers and lectures on associated topics. He is on the staff of Boca Raton Community Hospital and the Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center.
